Students worked in groups to present a different simple machine to the class. They did a great job presenting the benefits of each simple machine and explaining how it makes our lives easier! -Mrs. Hamilton #DragonNation

C.I.S. held its annual Veterans Day breakfast today, November 8 since there is no school on November 11, the day to honor veterans for their sacrifice and protection of our nation.
All C.I.S. students wrote thank you cards for the veterans. They were handed out by students as the heroes entered the building. The remaining cards will be delivered to Cameron Veterans home on Monday by the C.I.S. staff.
We would like to send a sincere Thank You to all veterans and their families! #DragonNation

Good day,
We are very excited to have an online program your child can use at home! The program is called Study Island and it has created a learning path for your child based on his/her NWEA results. Please join us on Thursday, November 14 at 5:00 at C.I.S. to get your child's login information and to learn how to use the system.
This is the same evening as our Book Fair Family Night that is from 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. We hope you are able to spend the evening with us! #DragonNation

C.I.S. October character word for the month was teamwork. These students represented their class with great teamwork. #DragonNation

5th graders in Ms. Popes class dive deep into the thick of dividing three and four digit dividends by two digit divisors using whole numbers and decimals with approximation and basic mathematical standard algorithms. Through collaboration they also discuss clarity and the why behind their learning. They know good classroom learners are willing to take risks and make mistakes using prior knowledge, giving 100% effort, and share either confidence building or learning moments. (Students helped write this message) #DragonNation

Mrs. Gitthens and Mrs. Ray’s classes practiced drawing conclusions by creating pictures on each other’s backs for their partner to “draw a conclusion” on what they were drawing. It was a great activity to start our unit! #DragonNation
