Hello CIS Families! I hope everyone had a great winter break and got plenty of time for rest and relaxation. It was refreshing getting to see all of the students back in the building today! I would like to take a moment and thank everyone for helping make our first semester a success. We faced many challenges but were able to overcome them due to the strong, positive relationship between school and home. As we embark on a new semester, we will continue to take on the challenges together. Please see the below information for CIS. -Masks: Please remember that masks are required for in-person learning. Please help us out by keeping an extra mask in your child's backpack. Neck gaiters and face shields are not allowed! -Updated Return to Learning Plan: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1036015/Cameron_R-1_Return_to_Learning_Plan__December_7_.pdf -Short Term AMI: Tis the season for inclement weather. Just a reminder about our short-term AMI days. What are Short-Term AMI Days? These Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) days are days that we are closed for a short time, such as for weather or a short-term COVID-related closure. Short-term AMI days do not have to be made up at the end of the year! The only requirement is that students complete their work at home on the day(s) we are closed and return it to school the day they return. AMI Days will be followed by both Face-to-Face and Virtual Learners. On an AMI day, we will send parents an email, text message, and Facebook post with instructions on which day of work to complete. All grade level packets include six days worth of work. Teachers will review the work upon returning and count the student in attendance. Students who do not complete and return the work will be counted absent. In addition to the paper packets that were sent home in backpacks, I am including a digital version below. Please do not work ahead - this work will only be completed if we announce it's an AMI day. Please put the packet somewhere safe and pull it out when and if you receive a message. THIS PACKET IS ONLY FOR AMI DAYS, NOT IF YOUR STUDENT IS QUARANTINED! Thank you for your support! 3rd AMI: 3rd Grade Short-Term AMI 4th AMI: 4th Grade Short-Term AMI 5th AMI: 5th Grade Short-Term AMI -No School: There will be No School Monday, January 18 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day -Class Pictures: Class pictures will be Thursday, January 21 As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 816-882-1046. Best Regards, Mr. Erdman and Mrs. Sedgwick

December Dress-up Days
Good Morning Parents/Guardians, Just a friendly reminder that the application for second semester virtual learning is due by Friday, December 11. Any family who wants to participate in online learning second semester is required to complete and submit an application. Please fill out an application for each virtual learner. Even if a student is currently an online student, an application is required. If your student is a current virtual learner and wishes to return to face-to-face learning for the second semester, you do not need to fill out an application. To ensure the student’s academic success, students currently participating in on-line instruction will be asked to prove active participation and passing grades before being allowed to enroll in second-semester on-line courses. Students in jeopardy of failure or retention will return to face-to-face instruction where we can better meet their learning needs. Again, all applications are due by Friday, December 11. For applications, click here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeyrqtaZu14LotQaZ3OUdVgkFbndifXzMjobxslWi-JE0xoyQ/viewform. For the Online Learning Expectations, click here: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1014504/On-line_Learning_User_Information.pdf Thank you and have a great week!
