An Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) day is different from a snow day. AMI days can be utilized for inclement weather, natural disasters, or an outbreak of a communicable disease. AMI days are counted as a day of attendance and the district will not be required to make up or add the day to the end of the school calendar.
AMI days require the students to complete and submit assigned AMI work provided through packets or virtual classrooms that were shared at the start of the school year. Students who do not complete and submit AMI assignments when returning to school will not receive a grade for the assignment and will be marked absent for that class/subject.
Although forms of communication between the school and home are limited on AMI dates, students and parents are welcome to email the classroom teachers with questions regarding assignments.
